I take a personal approach to teaching. My Goal is to help you develop the skills you want.

We'll cover the basics of Finger Blocking, Bar Technique, and Intonation.  These are the essentials for mastering the Lap Steel. 

The Lap Steel can be a very expressive instrument...  We'll cover bar technique as well as volume and effects pedals to create a wide range of sounds.  

 Slide guitar defined an entire generation of rock and blues.  We will cover the basics of how to use the slide properly and to develop solos using bottleneck techniques. 

 Ever wondered how musicians get those unique sounds that you can't seem to reproduce on a standard guitar tuning?  We will cover the concepts of open tuning and how you can use it for song composition. 

 To perform a solo or even do a lick, you need to be able to create a melody.  We'll cover the concepts of how to use scales to develop a melody through major and minor pentatonic scales. 

 We'll discuss how and why chords work the way they do?  An essential skill for improving your playing is understand the neck and how chords are structured.
